I just love instructional material, especially Free instructional material! I have learned an immense amount about watercolor painting just by watching Joe’s videos on our website.
Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff has been producing instructional videos for years now. Joe Miller is featured on the original Joe’s Test Studio videos demonstrating new products, exciting watercolor techniques, and step by step how-to segments made especially for our viewers. These existing videos can be viewed on our website under the “Learn” button on the homepage, as well as, on our Cheap Joe’s You Tube Channel . You can search our channel and find hundreds of videos provided to you for free viewing. We have enlisted the talents of local artists, as well as, nationally known instructors to bring you reliable and excellent art instruction. This has enabled us to add a variety of information on the You Tube Channel which includes various other mediums including pastel, oils, acrylics, encaustics, with many more to come.
Cheap Joe’s is dedicated to expanding our instructional video library to make it easier than ever for you to find answers to questions regarding products, techniques, and art in general.
In this new series of blogs entitled, “Cheap Joe’s Art Clips”, we will be introducing these new informative video collections to you as they become available. This first series of You Tube videos features Andy Braitman of Braitman Studio of Charlotte NC. Andy is an artist of national stature. His work has been featured in galleries and in one-man and group shows all over the country. Andy currently teaches over 15 regular classes at Braitman Studios to beginners, as well as, advanced students of all ages. He has experience in many different mediums including encaustics and he frequently incorporates textured materials into his over sized landscape paintings. In this series of You Tube videos, Andy offers advice and step by step demostrations for his unique process of creating an encaustic painting. He is using professional quality products from R&F which are available at Cheap Joe’s. Encaustics require a stable surface in which to build many layers of wax which can become very heavy. Andy has chosen the Joe’s Prime Fine Art Board in which create his encaustic painting on. It is, first, primed with two coats of Joe’s Prime Really Good Gesso to give the wax a suitable surface in which to bond to. The series includes setup, materials, and safety information, as well as a six part thorough demonstration of how to create an encaustic painting the Andy Braitman way. Search “Andy Braitman Encaustics Painting” on the Cheap Joe’s You Tube Channel to view the complete series of videos as they are uploaded.
