I am in a fine arts group experimenting with alcohol inks on Yupo. What a challenge…and what joy in working with these. I tried making my own alcohol inks, but had limited success.

Is there any way to send this page as an email attachment so I can easily save it for future reference? It’s great to see the inks on different surfaces!

    Thank you

    Hi Monalisa,

Thanks for posting about Alcohol Inks and mentioning AIA, Alcohol Ink Art Facebook Group which I began in Sept. 2012 for the purpose of using alcohol inks in fine art. Amazed at our 1,100 members from around the world, many executing incredible detail, others having fun with color and form using alcohol inks. Thanks again!

Can you tell me how to prepare canvas for alcohol ink painting? I would also like to know how to preserve painting. Thank you so much.

I use alcohol ink on art canvas as is. You can also make your on gesso and apply to any surface, if you like…before using the alcohol ink on it. Get creative !
Preserving my pieces I use a good, shiny art acrylic spray

I tried the Golden spray sealant for my alcohol in artwork and it ruined it. Do you have another type to use?

Just started playing around with alcohol ink and also just can’t get enough of it. I find it very relaxing and if something doesn’t look right, just take it off with alcohol and start again! Have the most fun with doing coasters and have finally advanced to doing flowers instead of just doing all the drops of ink, both fun to do though. Thanks for all the great ideas!

I have been using Alcohol Inks for about two years and just love them. I found them on Pinterest, then checked out June Rollins and Monica Moody alcohol ink artists. Now I ran away with ideas of my own, and painting left tot he imagination of people who just enjoy them on my facebook and artists friends also my art group, here in Puyallup WA.

Hello, I would like to make a canvas floor cloth using alcohol inks as the design, my question is it would need to be sealed 3-4 times to protect it, do you have any suggestions as to what I should use, also would the colors be color safe from fading.

Do you know of any books that cover canvas floor cloths.

Thank you so much for you time.
